Nicole Wells resides on the Central Coast, in NSW, Australia.

She is a finalist in the 2018 National Photographic Portrait Prize, which is a very prestigious Australia-wide photographic portrait competition.

During 2017 Nicole won the 'Postcards of the Coast' section of the Wyong Exposure Photographic prize, with a highly commended trophy & cheque.

Nicole was selected as a finalist in the prestigious biennial Olive Cotton Photographic Portrait Prize and her work was exhibited at Tweed Regional Gallery.

Nicole also held an exhibition at Paddington Town Hall as part of the Head On Photography festival, where she placed as a semi-finalist in the competition. Information about the exhibition can be found here - Two of her images were used in large banners in the city of Sydney, her instagram feed shows these banners. She also exhibited again in the AddOn group exhibition.

In March 2016 Nicole won 1st prize at the Royal Easter Arts Show, as well as best of show with her image of her daughter in a knitted fox snood. Nicole's daughter adores foxes. Nicole was also  selected as a semi-finalist with Head On and exhibited again in Add On.

2015 was a very quiet year for Nicole due to family health issues. However she was still a finalist in the Portrait section of Capture Magazine's 'Australia's Top Emerging Photographers'. Capture Magazine also featured her in their Talent section. Nicole entered the bi-annual Fremantle International Portrait Prize and was selected as a finalist.

In 2014, she had received 3rd place in the photographic portrait section of the Royal Easter Arts Show. Head On selected Nicole to be a finalist in their competition, which has led to her being involved in a group exhibition of finalists in Sydney, New Zealand, China & New York. Her image was also featured in the New York Times, in an article about Photoville. 
Nicole was declared winner of the Photography & Digital Media section in the Gosford Art Prize & was also selected as a semi-finalist for the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize.

Nicole was also invited for her work to be exhibited in Add On in 2012 and 2013, which is part of the Australian Head On photography festival. Shutter Speed exhibition by Gallery Red in Glebe, hosted two of her images during the Head On festival in May 2013. She was also selected as a finalist for the Fremantle Portrait Prize in 2013. 

She was a contestant in 2012 in the ABC's Photo Finish, where she was chosen to photograph an Australian celebrity, actor Vince Colosimo at Sun Studios, in Sydney. The television program was a series that put contestants into different scenarios and possibly with cameras they had never used before. This challenge made Nicole decide to try and master studio photography.

She has also placed in the Sydney Royal Easter Arts show, 2nd in 2012 and a Highly Commended in 2011 and 2017. 

Nicole will continue her journey with more learning and to keep developing herself artistically as well. She is a professional member of NAVA - (National Association for the Visual Arts) Australia.
